Ridiculously Easy Way To Add Shortcut Icons To Your Favorite Channels on Kodi and XBMC

kodi-xbmc-home-screen-shortcut-icons-channelsKodi and XBMC are simply the best media center solutions available. There’s tons of modifications you can do to Kodi and one of the best is adding short cut icons to your favorite channels on the home screen of Kodi and XBMC when it loads. This prevents you from having to click into the video add-ons and then having to scroll and search for the channel add on you’re looking for. This is especially handy if you tend to watch the same channel plugin over and over. The top 5 shortcut add-ons for Kodi’s home screen are 1Channel, IceFilms, SportsDevil, Mashup and Genesis. Of course some of you bachelors out there may have all five shortcuts to your favorite Adult XXX porn channels, but we like to keep it PG-13 around here…yeah right.

Watch the video above for a simple fast way to add your favorite channels to the shortcut section on the videos homepage. In our example we show you how to add 1Channel, Mashup, Navi-X, SportsDevil and Erotik for simple one-click access to your favorite movies and tv shows. Here’s a quick and dirty transcription of where to go. If you don’t know your way around Kodi or XBMC very well yet, I recommend watching the short video above to show you exactly the steps you need to take for the home screen shortcuts.

From your home screen, navigate to System>Settings>Appearance

From the Skin selection, click right and under Skin Confluence click on – Settings

From the new window that opens, scroll down to Add-On Shortcuts

Click right and navigate down to Home Page Videos Sub-menu and select Add-On 1

Find the Channel you want to add a shortcut to and select it.

Repeat for all remaining slots.

Is it possible to add a shortcut directly to a TV show or season?

You can add it to your Kodi favorites, which will be in the right sidebar when you click the star at the bottom – left of the screen. You can’t add icons the way you can channels. There may be an add-on to do that, but I am unaware of one.

I have all of my shortcuts in place on the home screen. However, when I unplug my fire stick and plug it back up, my short cuts are like they were before I changed them. How do I save them indefinitely?
